✨ 2-Day Journey (1 Night)

  • Day 1: Arrival

    • 3:00–4:00 PM: Arrive at Umurobyi Lodge, welcomed with a refreshing drink and snack.

    • Settle into your room and explore the lodge.

    • Late Afternoon: Relax at the pool, stroll through the gardens or take the sunset boat ride with the local fishermen.

    • 3- course dinner included in your stay: Umurobyi Fishermen’s Feast — a delicious showcase of the lake’s bounty.

    Day 2: Adventure & Departure

    • Breakfast included in your stay overlooking the tranquil lake.

    • Early Morning: Choose between kayaking on the calm waters or lounging by the pool.

    • 11:00 AM: Checkout (or stay longer for lunch).

    • Lunch included in your stay available at the lodge or as take-away for the road.

✨ 3-Day Journey (2 Nights)

  • Day 1: Arrival

    • 3:00–4:00 PM: Arrival, welcome drink, and snack.

    • Relax by the pool or take a short walk around the property or Karongi.

    • 3-course dinner included in your stay: Umurobyi Fishermen’s Feast

    Day 2: Explore Lake Kivu

    • Breakfastincluded in your stay with lake views.

    • Morning: Go kayaking or join a boat tour to visit nearby islands and hike on the islands.

    • Lunch included in your stay at Umurobyi.

    • Afternoon: Relax by the pool or enjoy a fisherman’s sunset boat trip.

    • 3-course dinner included in your stay: Umurobyi’s Signature Chicken

    Day 3: Adventure & Departure

    • Breakfast included in your stay.

    • Early Morning: Guided hike along the lake toward the fishermen’s port.

    • Morning: Hop on our Vespas for a fun ride through Karongi district or to a nearby coffee or tea plantation.

    • 11:00 AM: Checkout (or stay longer for lunch).

    • Lunch included in your stay available at the lodge or as take-away for the road.

✨ 4-Day Journey (3 Nights)

  • Day 1: Arrival

    • 3:00–4:00 PM: Welcome drink and snack.

    • Unwind by the pool or have a walk around the property or surroundings.

    • 3-course dinner included in your stay: Umurobyi Fishermen’s Feast.

    Day 2: Discover the Lake & Karongi

    • Breakfast included in your stay.

    • Morning: Kayaking adventure or island boat tour to the islands.

    • Lunch included in your stay at the lodge or picnic on one of the islands.

    • Afternoon: Vespa ride through Karongi’s charming roads and villages.

    • 3-course dinner included in your stay: Umurobyi Signature Chicken.

    Day 3: Congo-Nile Adventures

    • Breakfast included in your stay.

    • Early Morning: Hike a part of the famous Congo Nile Trail or visit the Source of the Nile.

    • Lunch as take-away for under the road

    • Afternoon: Discover a local coffee or tea plantation on your way back.

    • Late Afternoon: Leisure time to swim, nap, or read by the pool.

    • Dinner included in your stay: Romantic lakeside dinner under the stars organised by us.

    Day 4: Walk & Departure

    • Early Morning: Guided hike along the fishermen’s route.

    • Breakfast included in your stay.

    • 11:00 AM: Checkout (or stay longer for lunch).

    • Lunch included in your stay available at the lodge or as take-away for the road.

What additional activities do we offer?

  • Kayaking adventure on the calm waters of the lake (included in your stay)

  • Vespa tour through the scenic hills of Kibuye (included in your stay of 2 nights):

    • Explore Karongi on your own, or take a map from the lodge to guide you. (Please note: a valid driver’s license is required.)

  • Boat trip to the islands or sunset boat tour on Lake Kivu (rwf 20k per hour):

    • Sunset boat ride: Join us for a magical sunset boat ride where you’ll get up close to the local fishermen as they cast their nets on Lake Kivu. You’ll have the unique chance to hop into one of their traditional boats and fish alongside them, experiencing their way of life as the sun slowly sets over the water.

  • Guided walk to the nearby fishermen’s port (included in your stay)

  • Picnic experience on one of Lake Kivu’s peaceful islands (possibility when when taking a boat trip to one of the islands)

  • Hike a part of the famous Congo Nile Trail (price upon request depending on your hike)

  • Visit the Source of the Nile, a historic and scenic landmark (price upon request)

  • Visit a coffee or tea plantation (price upon request)

  • Relaxing massage by the shores of the lake (price upon request)
